Spend your summer with your kiddos AND your camera.
Directions:

1. Print out the following file and cut out all of the “prompts.”
2. Put the prompts into a jar….draw one out anytime you would like some “inspiration.”
3. This is a great way to spend a lazy summer day.

I have been stalking the animals for this shot!!!

It's been about 3 years since we had over 48 Moose on one Quarter Section (160 acres) - 17 bull moose -  on our Canola field during the winter months.   Satellite imaging showed that this was the highest amount of moose in one area in SK - was starting to be called the moose capital of Saskatchewan - accoring to DNR  (Dept. of Natural Resources - wildlife).

We used to have a Cow and her calf that lived just beside the house, i would get Christina walking to the bus, as the Cow and her calf went the opposite way.   The bus would come and do tours.  At night we were on the watch for poachers as it was an open target.   The moose came to the "Shewchuck corner" because that year we voluntary canola came up on the quarter, and apparently they loved the 'cabbage type' leaves.

Since then we have been having a Cow and her twins - yes twins, every year.  We see them all the time and I never get a picture.   While we were roasting weiners during quad trip July 6th - off in the distance was "my shot", now i only have my Sony Cyber Shot  (DSC-H3) 8.1 mp and was able to get this shot...

Aren't they cute, I always see the calf when it's a year old and "gangly" looking - so happy to see the calves!!
Now my next shot will be a close-up - stay tuned!

More Wildlife shots

thought you may enjoy seeing some more fabulous sights around here.  First shot is our baby kildeer - you saw them earlier as eggs, then just hatched - and now look running around - so cute & fast...  Then you see tadpoles (they are the length of my hand... huge), then we found mud hen eggs..., lastly out in our field thousands of snails - crazy...

CHA 2010 is coming.... are you ready?

I know, i get excited about a ton of things, I absolutely get giddy during Winter & Summer CHA events - who would not want sneak peeks of all the awesome, fun goodies that will be arriving soon near you!!!

Another great joy for me and brought out the "pee pee" dance of mine is being on the Kiki Art design team... the paper, the tapes, the lace, the buttons, the bling... oh my... here's a sneak peak for you!!    Don't you just love it!!   I can't wait to drool, 'er smell, i mean get my inky fingers all over this new line coming!!

Packing Tape Transfer

This is such a great technique...  Here is how to do it. - please don't forget to share with me!

Choose and cut out the image you wish to use. Magazine photos work very well for this technique




This one is cut from a gift bag. You can get tons of images for various projects from just one gift bag.



Adhere packing tape to the front of your image. Burnish with a bone folder.



Soak in a bowl of water for about 10 minutes.



Take out of the water and gently rub off the paper on the back. This is a little messy.




Use only the pad of your thumb or finger. If there is still some paper, soak it in the water some more and try again. The one from the gift bag took several more soakings than the magazine image.

Apple Pizza Source: H. Sheppard, The Aurora Newspaper, 14 Wing Greenwood, NS, Canada - Sept 24, 2001

This is a great recipe to try w/ kids. You can make one big pizza or break the dough up to make li'l pizzas so everyone can make their own! The kids can roll out the dough, add the sugar, cinnamon, etc… to the cut apples and arrange the apples on their own pizza. You can even have the kids invite a friend over to have an apple pizza making session!

Part 1: Quick Rise Pizza Dough-
SIFT together:
1 c flour
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
3 tsp quick rise yeast (or 1 package)

MIX together:
1 cup warm water
2 Tablespoons oil
ADD to the above ingredients and BEAT vigorously for about 1 MINUTE. (This is done to add air to the dough)

NOW, ADD:
1 cup flour and mix until you have dough firm enough to form into a ball. (You may have to add a little extra flour.)
Cover bowl and let rise for about 1/2 hour til dough has risen somewhat. (Trick- I always place the bowl in a warm spot in my kitchen.)
Knead the dough a little. (To save a lot of mess, try kneading the dough right in the BOWL!)
Spread dough onto Pizza pan. (If you are worried the dough has not risen enough, remember that most times it will finish rising in the oven while the pizza is cooking!)

PART 2: Making the Apple Pizza! Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

SLICE UP: 6 cups peeled apples and mix them with 2 T lemon juice. Place the sliced apples onto the Pizza Dough.

MIX TOGETHER:
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
1/4 cup margarine (softened)
1/2 cup bread crumbs OR Rolled Oats

Sprinkle mixture over the apple pizza. Bake in oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Let cool slightly. Serve warm. (Great with Ice cream.)

He Undestands - article from Scrapbook Update!

What a Fantastic Article

Totally I can relate and i wish others would see it more as an Art than just a hobby!   What other "hobby" can you preserve and relive memories over and over again through an artistic, creative eye?    For those that support me, thank you - for those that still don't understand,  i hope this gives you a better look at my "job"

I scrap about everything and anything and YES, it's therapy for me as well  !   You don't have to love it, participate, etc, but please respect that it is my job - I support you in your career, this is my career!!
